Peptides are one of the few skincare ingredients that are both fashionable and well founded. They sit at the centre of our N°56 Peptide Ageless AM/PM Cream and N°57 Peptide Anti-Aging Serum, so it is worth knowing what they are and what they are not.
What a peptide is
A peptide is a short chain of amino acids, the same building blocks that make up proteins such as collagen and elastin. In skincare, peptides are used because they are small enough to be well tolerated and specific enough to act as messengers: certain peptides are associated with signalling the skin to behave in a more youthful way, supporting firmness and a smoother surface over time.
What to expect
Peptides are not a filler and they do not work overnight. Used consistently, morning and evening, most people notice skin that looks plumper, more even and more comfortable within a few weeks, with fine lines appearing softer over the following months. Results are cumulative, which is why our cream is designed for both AM and PM use rather than as an occasional treatment.
How to use them
- Apply to clean, dry skin after any serum and before sunscreen in the morning.
- Peptides pair well with hyaluronic acid, niacinamide and vitamin C, all of which appear alongside them in our formulas.
- They are gentle enough for daily use and suit mature, dry and normal skin types.
Where to start
N°56 Peptide Ageless AM/PM Cream is the simplest way in: one cream, twice a day. If you prefer a lighter texture or want to layer, N°57 Peptide Anti-Aging Serum goes underneath. Both are formulated and made in the European Union.
